My Approach
I take an Integrative approach in developing a treatment plan that is tailored specific to your individual needs, which simply means that I incorporate key components from a variety of evidence-based practices. I like to draw from the strengths you already are equipped with and build coping skills in the areas that need support.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which explores our thoughts (cognitions) and emotions and their impact on our behaviors. This is the gold standard practice in managing depression and anxiety. Also, drawing upon Mindfulness theories such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which encourages more flexibility with our thoughts and feelings by using mindfulness strategies and acceptance. These strategies lend a variety of tools to combat guilt and shame and cope with infertility, loss, and postpartum depression.
